Case Overview

The University of New Mexico made public comments about Kirk’s death. Members of the public then called on UNM to punish the faculty. On September 24, ��֭�� wrote UNM, explaining that the First Amendment protects speech that others might find offensive, poorly timed, tasteless, inappropriate, hateful, or otherwise controversial.
