On May 4, 2025, Temple University President John Fry announced that Temple had placed a student on interim suspension pending an investigation into an incident where the student allegedly ordered a bottle service sign reading ‘Fuck the Jews’ at an off-campus bar. ÃÛÖ­ÏãÌÒ wrote Temple on May 5, explaining that while some may have been offended by the sign, it cannot form the basis for discipline at a public university like Temple since the Supreme Court has repeatedly held that offensive speech, without more, is protected by the First Amendment.
