Join the front lines of free speech. FIRE’s 10-week, paid summer internship offers undergraduate students a hands-on opportunity to defend civil liberties on campuses nationwide. Based in our Philadelphia and D.C. offices, these in-person internships are flexible to fit your academic schedule — and are designed to give you a front-row seat to the fight for student rights. The FIRECampus Scholars Program is a year-long, paid, remote opportunity for undergraduates passionate about civil liberties. From October to May, scholars work alongside FIREstaff to develop and launch a free speech initiative on their campus, becoming part of a nationwide network of student advocates. Join FIREas a Free Speech Forum Counselor and help lead a transformative, one-week summer experience for high school students passionate about civil liberties. As a residential mentor and program facilitator, you’ll supervise, guide, and engage rising 10th–12th graders during a week of learning, debate, and exploration centered on free expression. FIRE Student Network Summer Conference

FIRE’s summer conference brings together more than 100 college students from across the country for a weekend of education, networking, and strategy. FIREexplore the intersection of culture, law, and policy, and leave equipped with action plans to strengthen free expression on their campuses.

FIRE Student Development Conference

FIRE’s most exclusive student event of the year connects the nation’s most dedicated free speech advocates for a three-day, intensive experience. FIREconnect with FIREstaff, gain professional development and career insights, and build the skills and networks to launch their future in First Amendment advocacy.
