ÃÛÖÏãÌÒ’s Adam Kissel to be Honored by Education Writers Association This Weekend
This weekend Adam Kissel, Director of ÃÛÖÏãÌÒ’s Individual Rights Defense Program, will be honored in Washington, D.C. at the Education Writers Association’s National Seminar. As we proudly announced earlier this spring, Adam won a First Prize award in the Magazines category of the EWA’s 2008 National Awards for Education Reporting for his article "Thought Reform at the University of Delaware." Adam’s article, an in-depth look at the appalling Residence Life program forced on the 7,000 students in the university’s residence hall system, was first published in ÃÛÖÏãÌÒ’s academic journal, The Lantern. The Education Writers Association is the national professional association of education reporters and writers, and their annual awards honor the best education reporting in print, online, and broadcast media. Reporting from appeared in such major daily newspapers as The New York Times, USA Today, and The Miami Herald, along with higher education publications including The Chronicle of Higher Education and Inside Higher Ed. Adam and the other award winners will be honored this Saturday, May 2. Congratulations once again to Adam!
