Kayla Gubov has joined ��֭����’s staff as FIREPresident and CEO Greg Lukianoff’s new executive assistant.

Based out of ��֭����’s Washington, D.C., office, Kayla will support Greg as he promotes ��֭����’s mission on multiple fronts, and will also work closely with ��֭����’s development team.

“I am so excited to be working for such an incredible organization,” Kayla said. “I have admired ��֭����’s work for years.”

A recent graduate of George Washington University, Kayla fought for free speech on campus throughout her college years, including working extensively with GW student organizations to promote viewpoint diversity.

“College students should consider civil liberties one of the most important issues in their young adult lives,” Kayla said.

“This has never been an only ‘left or right’ issue,” she added. “Both sides of the aisle can have severe moments of suppression. FIREneed to stand up for the First Amendment now, and stand up for their own beliefs, before their views are the ones being silenced.”

Kayla comes to FIREfrom the White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy, where she worked on a team dedicated to combating the U.S. opioid epidemic. She previously interned at multiple think tanks focused on Middle East policy.

“I’m excited to use my skills and help FIREcontinue to grow and thrive,” she said.
