Discourse and disagreement are fundamental components of any academic endeavor and students will not be subject to disciplinary action for their lawful expression of ideas. A student retains the rights, protection, guarantees, and responsibilities which are held by all citizens. The University Community Standards system does not eclipse, in intention or application, the constitutional rights and guarantees of students.
