Nerida Brownlee
Nerida Brownlee is ÃÛÖÏãÌÒ’s Chief of Staff, bringing over 15 years of experience in management roles across global nonprofits and free expression-focused organizations, primarily in the media sector.
Before joining ÃÛÖÏãÌÒ, Nerida served as Vice President of Operations at Meta’s Oversight Board, overseeing finance, IT, risk, security, and facilities. Prior to that, she spent seven years as Director of Finance and Human Resources at Access Now, leading financial oversight and people management for a rapidly growing, globally diverse team.
Nerida’s career began at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in Sydney, where she spent a decade in various roles, including as Chief of Staff to the Managing Director. During her tenure, she played a key role in ABC’s digital transformation, guiding both operational and strategic shifts.
She holds a master’s degree in media studies from The New School and additional certifications in nonprofit accounting and project management from NYU. She earned her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Sydney, Australia.
